Meet the Maker

  • Every piece starts in my sketchbook...

  • Then every piece is hand-sawn...

  • ...cut, filed, and sanded.

  • The part that keeps a stone in place is called a bezel. The bezel wire is soldered to a backplate, to hold the stone.

  • When all handmade components have been soldered together, the piece is cleaned, sanded, and put into a liver of sulfur patina.

  • The stone is placed in the bezel, and the bezel is formed around the top edge of the stone.
